Blush! Blush! How’s and What’s of Blushing right!

In recent time, blush has made a massive comeback, it has been in focus in Paris & London Fashion Week, and also our very own Lakme Fashion Week. Everyone looks better with a natural glow and warmth to their face, and foundation mostly cover up your natural flush – which is why blush is so significant in getting a natural look to the face.

With the huge range of Blushes available at Lookadora, you need to consider a few points when making your purchase. Here, we will help you choose the right type of Blush. To figure out how to choose the right shade for your skin tone, click here.

POWDER BLUSH

Powder blushes are the most popular formula, as they are the easiest to use and suitable for most skin types. If you have oily skin, powder blushes give you the most longevity and help keep your cheeks stay matte all day. Even with normal or combination skin, powder blush is mostly the right choice. But, with dry and flaky skin this won’t work for you.

As powder blushes are generally highly pigmented and will give you a rich colour with strong staying power. Powder blushes come in a variety of finishes from matte to shimmer. Matte will be suitable for oily skin, whereas shimmer will suit more of a normal skin type.

Powder can be applied on top of powder or liquid foundation. But you will achieve the most even coverage with a bit of face powder or compact underneath as sometimes powder can stick to the cream or liquid foundation and leave your blush looking patchy.

CREAM BLUSH

Cream blushes look fantastic on dry skin or more mature skin, as they are emollient and often have hydrating properties in them. Cream blushes will give your cheeks a luminous glow. Cream blushes can be easily applied with fingers, but brushes also work well for them. The best way to use a brush for your cream blush is to just swirl it into your cream blusher and stipple the brush onto your cheeks.

LIQUID BLUSH

Liquid blushes will help you achieve a natural flush appearance. Liquids are generally richer in colour with more of a sheer finish.

Liquid blushers can have a dual use, and be applied to your lips which looks very complimentary. These lip and cheek stains from various brands have become very popular nowadays. For best results, apply after liquid foundation or moisturiser and instantly blend the product out. As liquid blushers are highly pigmented, a little goes a long way. So, start with a little product, and build up till you achieve your desired results.
